K. Michelle Walker-O'Brien - inMotion Director & Owner

Youth & Teen Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Adult Jazz, Pre Tap/Jazz

 

A Newton native, Michelle spent 13 years in Chicago teaching, performing, and studying many forms of dance. She helped create and choreographed the Evanston Children's Theatre, choreographed The Bogg Children's Theater, choreographed for the Chicago Honey Bears, performed in a "just say no" group called "The Exposonic Rockers," created and choreographed a children-teen dance company called "Legs in Motion." In 1990 she received a BA in Dance from Columbia College of Chicago with an emphasis on performance, choreography, and teaching. Michelle has been dancing since the age of 5. Michelle loves her life with her husband Mike, her daughter Kleo, family and friends. She is looking forward to the 20th year of inMotion Center!

Tiffany Lehrman | Ballet, Pointe, Tap/Jazz,

PreTap/Ballet, Musical Theater

For the past 30 years she has been involved in dance and tumbling. Tiffany has studied tap, ballet, lyrical, jazz, pointe, and tumbling. Tiffany has kept educated with her dance background by taking classes and attending conventions. Tiffany loves working with kids and enjoys watching them grow and develop in their dance and tumbling technique. When Tiffany is not dancing she works at UL-Newton

Engineering part-time and enjoys spending time with her husband Andy and son Carter. Tiffany is looking forward to a wonderful year!

Heather Ross | Tumbling, Jazz, Tiny Tot Tumbling,

Cheerleading

Heather has been involved in dance and tumbling since she was 3. She enjoys taking classes to keep involved in new dance techniques outside of inMotion. She has competed and attended many national competitions along with tumbling clinics. Heather works full time at the Jasper County Treasurers office, and is the head cheerleading coach for NHS. When Heather isn’t working or teaching she loves spending time with her family, friends, her daughters, Aliviah and Addison, and husband, Lance. Heather is looking forward to a great year!

 

Macey Caves | inMotion Dance Company | Pre Tap/Ballet, Ballet, Contemporary

Macey Caves danced at inMotion for 16 years. During her time at inMotion, she was a student helper, involved in dance company and took many different genres of dance. After she graduated from Newton High School, she perused her dream to become a nurse at Grand View University with a minor in psychology. She is currently in her senior year at Grand View University and is following her love for dance in her fourth year on the dance team. Macey lives in Ankeny with her boyfriend Nolan. Macey loves kids and has experience teaching dance camp, choregraphing routines and working at a daycare. Along with teaching at inMotion and going to school full-time, she also works part-time as a Patient Care Technician at Grinnell Regional Hospital.


Jasmine Conner | Instructor |

Hip Hop/Street Jazz | Technique

Jasmine Conner is a hip hop, street jazz, technique, and competition teacher. This is her 4th year teaching at inMotion. She lives in Des Moines with her boyfriend Cass, and her cat Simba. She loves teaching, and has a passion for watching dancers learn the art form. Along with teaching, she is a Central Reservations Agent for Stoney Creek Inn. She can't wait for what the 15th year at inMotion has to bring!

 

 

Emily Hornbuckle | Competition Cheerleading Head Coach

Emily was a cheerleader all four years of high school in Newton, and cheered for basketball, wrestling and football. She was on the first Newton High School Competition Squad where they took first place in numerous competitions. Emily has been a UCA All Star Cheerleader, was selected for an invitation only competition squad in Iowa City and attended UCA cheer camp every year. She was co-captain of her squads during her sophomore, junior and senior year and loved cheering for all sporting events. Emily is the Client Services Manager at Rock Communications and volunteers as the leader of her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. She lives in Newton with her husband Aaron, their daughter Amelia and their two dogs and cat.
